Ladies, I always do my best to never drive in heels, especially manuals. On one occasion, I forgot my sneakers and had no issues with the placement of these pedals, even with my heels on.

I know that manuals are becoming a thing of the past so it’s too bad I didn’t get the chance to try out the DSG with paddle shifters. It has been getting great reviews from other journalists so if you can’t drive a stick, you should be very pleased with the automatic.

I spent half of my time in the city with this sporty little thing and it was more than capable of zipping in and out of traffic. It has a stiff feeling chassis and responsive steering that is not too light.

I spent the other half of my time driving down to Seattle and I was impressed with how quiet the interior is on the highway. A nice improvement over the outgoing model. There was just enough sound from both the engine and the road; not bad.

VW has added double seals on the windows, a cover under the engine and made the glass 10% thicker. This GTI has a bit of roar to it and when passing at higher speeds, but the sound is enjoyable.

The steering wheel not only looks good with the red stitching but it feels good, too! Not too thick for my girly hands and will comfortably allow the driving position that you prefer. The flat section at the bottom of the wheel allows for a bit more leg room when getting in and out.

Audi uses the same shaped steering wheel in the Audi TT. So I think that saying it has a premium feel to it would be quite fitting.

Speaking of premium feeling – the interior is similar to some Audis as well. Everything is placed within easy reach for the driver. The chrome accents, shiny piano black finish and soft touch material all come together to create a very stylish interior.

My one major complaint about this and I really thought I would get over it; I do not like the red plaid Jacky Cloth Sports Seats. Yes, as my boyfriend nicely pointed out, it matches the red accents on the inside and out. And as a woman I like my shoes to match my purse, but this is just a bit too much for me. We both agree that in this ‘sporty car', you should have sporty looking seats.
