The second model finally arrives
Quebec-based Campagna will soon add a second model to its product line-up. After the T-REX, the company will introduce the V13R, another three-wheeled cross between a car and a motorbike.

Unlike the T-REX, a high-strung track beast with a 1,400cc Kawasaki 4-cylinder, the V13R will instead by powered by a Harley-Davidson V-Rod engine. Displacing 1,250 cc, the Revolution family V-Twin produces 122 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque, and it’s connected to a 5-speed sequential gearbox.

So, the V13R will emphasis touring rather than all-out performance, but that doesn’t mean it can’t get the adrenaline pumping; it’s power-to-weight ratio of 9.47 lb/hp is close to that of a Porsche Boxster S, you know, just for comparison purposes.

According to Campagna, there was a demand for a new model, and orders from several countries have already been confirmed. “This vehicle has all the driving quality of our well-known T-REX, but it now offers a style much closer to a roadster, which should please a whole new category of clients,” says Associate VP David Neault.

The V13R features polished alloy wheels wrapped with 205/45ZR17 tires up front and a massive 205/35ZR18 single tire at the rear. Braking power is provided by cross-drilled discs on each wheel, but don’t expect any form of electronic safety aids such as ABS and stability control, obviously.

The body is made out of fibreglass, bolted onto a tubular steel structure. The front end boasts quad projector headlights and a narrow chromed grille, giving the V13R an angry, scary-movie character face. Some like it, others don’t.

Compared with the T-REX, it rides on a longer wheelbase with its stretched-out swingarm, and much longer overall. However, they’re almost identical in width and height, although the V13R weighs about a hundred pounds more, for a total of 1,156 or 524 kilograms.
