The 1971 movie Vanishing Point is one of the top reasons many people fell in love with cars, more specifically muscle cars. The main character, known simply as Kowalski, attempted to win a bet by driving a white ’70 Challenger R/T from Denver to San Francisco in less than 15 hours.

Bob Frederick is probably the movie's number one fan and he managed to convince the folks at Chrysler to build a limited run of the Challenger Kowalski Edition, an idea he held dearly.

Since the automaker wasn’t offering the new Challenger SRT8 in white, the project stood little chance. But then a potential opportunity arose when Chrysler announced the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition, listing white among its available colours.

And so Frederick's creation is powered by the 470-hp, 6.4-litre HEMI engine aka 392, rides on 20-inch wheels, adds both a navigation system and SRT Option Group II with premium stereo. These were all part of his original wish list.

Throw in a slew of exclusive details and you get a really unique Challenger. “Kowalski Edition” decals can be found on the rear spoiler and under the hood. Let's not forget the ’70-style Hurst Pistol Grip shifter with woodgrain accents and the Mopar chrome quad exhaust tips.

The car pays the ultimate tribute to Vanishing Point and proves that fiction can sometimes become reality. Congratulations to Bob Frederick for his passion and dedication!
