The predictability and careful assembly of this M56x reminded me of BMW’s 550i xDrive. Both boast a 400-head stable used to motivate a little over two tons from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6 seconds, maybe less. Their smooth suspension does allow for sporty manoeuvres, though. What’s more, each benefits from powerful, easily modulated brakes that bring the machines to a halt as effortlessly as the ponies get things moving.

The neutralizing sound is controlled by two microphones located in the vault of the roof, without input from the driver or the passengers, who just have to bask in the calm atmosphere.
This new M also tickles the nose with its Forest Air system. It keeps undesirable odours from wafting into the cabin and even circulates a fresh, calming forest breeze. Though the automaker hasn’t specified if it’s a B.C. forest breeze or a Siberian one.
