I found the seat bottom to be a bit too long for my legs. I am about 5'7 and the seat started to dig underneath my thighs. This is a minor detail, but it would be a major consideration to me if I were buying this car. It's too bad that the seat cushion length isn't ajustable.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel feels great in my hands. This is where we keep our hands for our entire experience in a vehicle and, for me, it needs to feel great or I am not interested. The actual steering is responsive and I like that is doesn't feel too light.
The cabin is very quiet and there is only a bit of engine noise when you really put the pedal to the floor. Lincoln says it beats Lexus in this area but I personally found them to be very similar.
Talk about luxury! A long list of standard features really makes the MKZ stand out. The Lincoln SYNC system, eco-friendly genuine wood trim, reverse sensing system, keyless entry keypad, dual-stage airbags, ABS and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control.
The option packages add tasty items like voice-activated navigation, rear view camera, the incredible THX II Certified audio system, ambient lighting and 17-inch chromed wheels.
The interior fit and finish look and feel fantastic. The centre stack is a bit simple for my tastes, but I prefer simple and classy over complex. For me, this is where the MKZ really impresses over the HS 250h. I feel like the interior in the Lexus is too overdone, too modern if you will.
Canadian pricing for the FWD is $38,400 and $42,200 gives you your choice of AWD or HEV.
I want to feel that I am surrounded by luxury from the inside out. This MKZ is priced competitively in this market. The drive and overall styling ooze luxury and I have a feeling that today's consumer will recognize this. The MKZ will allow buyers to express themselves, combining good value with luxury as well as doing their part for the environment without having to give anything up.
