Take a 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, borrow some elements from the 4S model and the aluminum doors from the Turbo, and you get something that resembles the 911 Speedster. It's also worth noting that the latter proves lighter, wider and lower due to a shortened windshield.

Furthermore, the 911 Speedster is motivated by a 3.8-litre, flat six-cylinder engine that fires 408 horsepower and 309 pounds-foot of torque through the brand's seven-speed, twin-clutch PDK transmission. The 365 units set to be produced will reportedly achieve a top speed of 305 km/h and 0-100 accelerations in 4.4 seconds.

The car rides on 19-inch Sport Classic wheels with 305/30ZR19 rear tires and 235/30ZR19 front tires. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) come standard along with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) that features Normal and Sport modes.

Inside, the Speedster boasts leather-trimmed adaptive sports seats with body-coloured sides and embroidered 'Speedster' logos on the headrests. Also included are front, side and curtain airbags with rollover sensors that optimize passenger protection.

The 2012 Porsche 911 Speedster will start at $245,900.
