Get it while you can
At $23,425 before taxes, freight and delivery charges, the 2012 Scion tC Release Series 7.0 isn’t exactly cheap. It’s actually $2,485 more than a base tC. Only 175 copies of the RS 7.0 edition will be sold in Canada this year, and 2,200 units in the US. You won’t see that many on the road, but when you do, you’ll notice them.
And that’s almost a shame, as the base tC doesn’t offer any bright colours to make it as noticeable as this High Voltage model. At $20,940, it comes well-equipped but remains more expensive than the Kia Forte Koup EX ($18,995) and Honda Civic EX ($19,990).
The 2012 Scion tC is a solid, pretty and comfortable little coupe; it aims to please, and performs above my personal expectations. It’s more powerful than the Civic, it’s got a better manual gearbox than the Forte Koup, but it costs a bit more. Tough call.
