Final Standings and Prize Money Beneficiaries
Points were allotted to those who reached the specific targets in a precise time frame. The iPad photos served as documented proof. We managed to produce a video report of our adventures and tribulations while doing our best to meet the difficult challenges (the video will be released later).
When all was said and done, we were very satisfied with our 5th place finish, as we were only 15 points behind the 3rd place finishers. Our charitable foundation was Alzheimer Quebec, but unfortunately we finished out of the money range. However, I can guarantee that we put our heart and soul into this event!
First place went to Alexandra Straub and Zack Spencer from the Vancouver Sun, who competed for Kidsports, the lucky beneficiaries of a $10,000 cheque. The Canadian Cancer Society will be receiving a $2,000 cheque thanks to the second-place finish of Dan Heyman and Adam Allen from Carpages.ca. Third place finishers, Mike Schlee and Sami Haj-Assaad, from AutoGuide raised $1,000 for Camp Sunshine.
The event organizers did an outstanding job from start to finish. We were privileged to have the opportunity to race, surmount difficult challenges, and sightsee in the most magnificent settings.
