Pros: Escalade is a survivor. Sales of this Luxury SUV are stable and Cadillac continues to make sure it is the most luxurious SUV. Four trim levels are available, Base Luxury, Premium and Platinum. All-new Escalade coming for the 2015 model year.

Cons: Despite up to date technologies, the Escalade is still an old design utilizing basic principles from more than a decade ago and at a pretty high price.

Exterior Styling: The Classic lines of a Cadillac make the Escalade one of the most distinctive of the full sized SUVS. LED tail lights are standard, but LED headlamps and HID headlamps are available depending on the trim level chosen. A power lift gate is standard on all Escalades. 18 inch rims are used on the base model, all others get 22 inch rims.

Interior Styling: Seating for up to eight is standard. A generous amount of cargo space becomes available with the removal of third row seat. The second row seat is available as two buckets or a three person bench seat. Stepping up to Premium and Platinum editions gains access to rear seat entertainment systems including built in DVD screens in the seat backs of the front seats.

Tri-zone climate control is standard on all Escalades as is navigation radio with touch-screen Operation.

The lengthy standard equipment list includes Bluetooth™, power adjustable pedals and a remote vehicle starter.

Powertrain: All Escalades come with a 6.2 liter 403 horsepower V8 that produces 417 lb.ft. of torque. Engine features include variable valve timing and active fuel management. The sole transmission available is a fuel saving six-speed automatic and an intelligent AWD system is available.

Safety: Front and side impact air bags are standard. Side curtain air bags cover all rows and stay inflated longer than impact air bags because they protect in case of a roll over. Traction control, stability control (Stabilitrak™), ABS and brake force distribution are standard as well.

Keyless remote entry, LATCH system of anchoring child seats, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ultrasonic park assist and a rear view camera are all on the standard equipment list as well.

Cadillac has installed a more robust steering column lock for increased theft resistance. In addition an inclinometer alarm is used to detect changes in the vehicle’s position such as being hoisted up onto a flat bed. OnStar is included for one year.
