Volkswagen premiered the new C Coupe GTE concept in Shanghai today. It's a 5m long plug-in hybrid sedan with a full EV mode and 22” wheels — and a new design approach for Volkswagen’s future luxury cars.
According to Car and Driver, the production version of the C Coupe GTE concept will be sold exclusively in China and positioned between the Passat and Phaeton. Under the hood is a 207-horsepower TSI engine paired with a 122-horsepower electric motor. EV range is estimated at 50 kilometres, while combined gas-electric range amounts to more than 800 kilometres.
The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 232 km/h.
