The very first copies of the new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 have left the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky and will reach their customers within hours.
“It has been an incredible opportunity to work on Chevy’s most capable model,” said Jeff Lamarche, plant manager of General Motors’ Bowling Green assembly plant, “It truly is an amazing car, and we’re thrilled to get them into the hands of our eager customers.”
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 houses a new LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 engine rated at 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful production car ever from General Motors. The Z06 accelerates from 0-96 km/h in only 2.95 seconds when equipped with the all-new 8-speed automatic transmission (optional), and achieves it in 3.2 seconds with the standard 7-speed manual transmission.
It is the first time since 1963 that the Z06 is also available as a convertible, which will arrive in early 2015.
Pricing for the 2015 Corvette Z06 in Canada starts at $85,095 plus a $1,800 destination charge, while the convertible model will start at $90,595.
