The new Ferrari 488 GTB made its global debut today at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, 40 years after the unveiling of Ferrari’s first ever mid-rear-engined V8 berlinetta, the 308 GTB.
The 3.9L engine powering the Ferrari 488 GTB is the Prancing Horse’s highest-performing engine ever with zero turbo lag and a unique, seductive soundtrack. It delivers 670 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, and sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds flat and from 0-200 km/h in just 8.3 seconds.
Sporting classic Ferrari lines, the 488 GTB features very sculptural flanks, a large signature air intake scallop, a dual grille opening, a double front spoiler, a hood with a pronounced, raised central section, as well as a blown spoiler and large air vents in the rear.
The cockpit of the Ferrari 488 GTB has a new lighter, horizontally more compact dashboard with ultra-sporty air vents inspired by military jet air intakes, plus a multifunction steering wheel, compartments that provide generous storage space, soft-touch door panels, a more ergonomic armrest, and a brand new infotainment system. By the way, the new key was inspired by the shape of the V8’s intake plenums and features keyless start.
