Pros: It’s a Honda! And it’s a Civic! Thankfully, the Civic remains affordable and with plenty of trim options, along with Honda’s great engines and drivetrains. 

Cons: Like everything else it’s gotten fatter, heavier and full of electronic gadgets that are bound to fail one day. At least it’s following the norm in the automotive industry.

Improvements and Changes: The 2015 Honda Civic got a bit of a facelift and a few external aesthetic upgrades, but nothing major. Otherwise it remains the same as the outgoing model. 

Powertrain: Honda’s 1.8L i-VTEC 4-cylinder mill is good for 143 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the front wheels. Transmission choices reside between a CVT automatic and a 5-speed manual. 

The Civic Si gets a 2.4L i-VTEC unit generating 205 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Honda’s drive-by-wire throttle system is featured in each Honda Civic Sedan model, and Eco Assist helps 1.8L models save fuel.
