BMW today unveiled the all-new M2 Coupe, which will go on sale across Canada next spring at a price that has yet to be announced.

This 370-horsepower, two-door compact car gets a newly developed 3.0L M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 343 lb-ft of torque (369 lb-ft with overboost). Mated to an optional 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) and Launch Control, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds (4.5 seconds with the 6-speed manual gearbox). Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Aesthetically, the new BMW M2 Coupe features a low front apron with large air intakes, muscular flanks with characteristic M gills, 19” aluminum wheels in familiar M double-spoke design, and a low, wide rear with M-specific twin-tailpipe exhaust system. Inside, you’ll find M sports seats, blue contrast stitching, Alcantara trim pieces, and M embossing on selected details.

Furthermore, the 2016 M2 is available with BMW Connected Drive. Advanced safety features include forward collision warning, pedestrian alert with auto brake, and lane departure warning. Drivers can hone their skills on the track with the help of various apps that record speed, acceleration, shifts, and fuel economy – all of which can later be shared on social media. For example, the GoPro app allows the driver to record fast laps with a dashboard-mounted action camera, using the iDrive Controller and Control Display.
