Chevrolet has just unveiled the new 2017 Sonic, which boasts a more modern and expressive design as well as many new technologies and cutting-edge infotainment features. It will go on sale this fall in sedan and hatchback configurations.

Highlights include a standard 7” colour touchscreen for the new MyLink system, segment-exclusive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and an available heated steering wheel and Rear Park Assist.

Outside, you’ll notice an entirely new, more dynamic look echoing the global Chevrolet cues seen on vehicles such as the Cruze, Bolt EV, and 2017 Trax. The hood and front fascia were redesigned. Projector-beam headlamps are standard, along with available LED daytime running lamps. Additionally, four new exterior colours are offered in 2017: Orange Burst Metallic, Brimstone, Cajun Red Tintcoat, and Arctic Blue Metallic (late availability).

On top of the amenities listed above, the interior features keyless entry and start, a new, detailed gauge cluster, and a segment-first power driver’s seat. Let’s not forget the 10 airbags. As for powertrains, there are no changes to report.

“This is an important segment for Chevrolet in Canada, especially in key urban markets like Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal where small cars like the Sonic are popular and offer the opportunity for Chevrolet to introduce ourselves to new buyers,” said Laura Pacey, brand director, Chevrolet Canada. “The new styling and features of the 2017 Chevy Sonic reinforce its position as a fun, efficient small car with leading technology, all at an affordable price.”
