Last month, FCA promised to unveil a new ultimate performance halo car, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, during the New York Auto Show week in April.
We’ve already shown you the first four teasers, titled Cage, Reduction, Body, and Crate. Now, here’s the fifth, Forced Induction, which focuses on the largest functional cold air intake ever installed on the hood of a production vehicle.
That monstrous thing even has a name, “Air Grabber,” and it measures more than 45 square inches. The SRT team also added a much larger air box that is sealed and ducted to the hood scoop, plus two illuminated and functional “Air Catcher” headlamps.
The combination gives the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon significantly increased airflow, while also dropping the inlet air temperature by more than 30 degrees compared with the Hellcat.
