The Grandest of all Jeeps

Hellcat is the dirtiest word in car business these days and FCA knows it. How does one capitalize on this kind of exposure? Make all things Hellcat.

The latest addition to this exclusive club will be the fastest of the lot: the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It will feature the same supercharged 6.2L V8 good for 700 horsepower but there will be one important difference: AWD.

The Grand Cherokee SRT is the quickest of the SRT thanks to having four wheels working in unison for forward momentum. The Trackhawk will have the same advantage. Plus (or is that minus?), the GC will shed some 500 lbs in the process.

The leaner, more powerful Jeep will crush quarter-mile runs and streetlights races alike. The 0-60 mph (97 km/h) sprint is expected to be annihilated in only 2.7 seconds, making it the quickest anything under $100k.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is expected for the 2018 model year and should sport a $79,999 USD starting price. This truck will be as elusive as it will be exclusive as FCA plans to only build it for one year.

Looking for a new instant-classic car investment? Any Hellcat will do but the Trackhawk should turn out to be the rarest of them all.
