46,000 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra trucks recalled

General Motors of Canada has issued a recall on 46,837 vehicles to address a brake pedal problem. Affected models include the 2015-2016 Chevy Silverado and Tahoe, as well as the GMC Sierra from the same model years.

On certain Heavy Duty and Police Pursuit vehicles, the brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative and possibly interfere with the throttle. Either that or the driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal.

Consequently, GM dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, they will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque.
