Subaru has announced details and U.S. pricing for its 2019 BRZ coupe. Consumers will also get treated to a new limited edition version, the top-of-the-range Series.Gray edition. Only 250 units of this variant will be produced, and we don’t at this point know if any will be destined for the Canadian market.
The model will come in three trims: Premium, Limited and the new limited edition. Overall design remains pretty much unchanged for the 2019 model-year.
The entry-level Premium gets a slightly higher starting price ($200 in the U.S.), and for that buyers will get a rear-view camera, welcome lighting for approaching or exiting the vehicle and dual USB ports, all now standard. The Limited trim now has an updated 7-inch multimedia system equipped for receiving over-the-air WiFi updates; this trim has standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
The Series-Gray edition
The special edition is distinguished by its unique Cool Gray Khaki colour, the same as was used on a limited-edition variant of the BRZ STI Sport, offered only in Japan.
The Series.Gray takes the equipment of the Limited trim and adds on a Performance package, which brings with it Sachs sport shocks and upgraded front and rear Brembo brakes. The special edition also features 17-inch black wheels as well as different interior stitching and an upgraded rear-view mirror. On the outside, the side-view mirrors get a distinct crystal black finish.
The 2019 Subaru BRZ will run on a 205-hp BOXER engine mated with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, as well as a TORSEN limited-slip differential.
Once again, we hope to update you soon regarding details and pricing for Canada.
