The GD25 and ZC15 names refer to the chassis codes of the first generations sold south of the border.

Subaru used the occasion of the Boxerfest 2026 event in York, Pennsylvania, to showcase two anniversary editions aimed at the U.S. market. The 2027 WRX GD25 highlights 25 years since the WRX arrived in the United States, while the 2027 BRZ ZC15 marks 15 years of the BRZ. Their names refer to the chassis codes of the first generations sold south of the border.

Subaru is limiting production to 350 units for the WRX and 300 for the BRZ. There’s no official word at this point whether these versions will be offered in Canada.

WRX GD25: A return to blue and gold

The WRX GD25 references the WRX launched in the U.S. in 2002, which carried the chassis code "GD." It will be offered exclusively in World Rally Blue with 19-inch wheels painted in gold. Brembo brakes with gold calipers and Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires complete the package.

Its most visible modification is found at the rear in the form of a carbon-fibre wing mounted on swan-neck uprights. This is the same part used on the WRX ARA25L rally car driven by Travis Pastrana. The GD25 also receives a flexible strut tower brace, stiffer springs and revised shock absorber tuning.

The 2.4L turbocharged flat-4 engine produces 271 hp and drives all four wheels. A 6-speed manual gearbox, paired with an STI short-throw shifter, is the sole transmission offered. Inside, highlights include Recaro seats trimmed in black Ultrasuede with red stitching. U.S. deliveries are scheduled for the summer of 2027.

BRZ ZC15: A nod to the first generation

The BRZ ZC15 derives its name from the "ZC" code of the original BRZ, which arrived in the U.S. in 2012. It adopts an exclusive Ceramic White shade, matte bronze wheels and gold Brembo calipers. Subaru notes that this colour combination recalls that of the 2020 BRZ tS.

Bronze stripes along the lower doors, a black trunk spoiler and a flexible V-bar under the bonnet also distinguish this version. The cabin features black upholstery with burgundy red accents, a "ZC15" plaque and an STI short-throw gear lever.

The powertrain remains a naturally aspirated 2.4L flat-4 engine producing 228 hp. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, offered exclusively on this edition. The first BRZ ZC15 units are expected in the U.S. in early 2027.

Subaru will announce pricing and detailed technical specifications closer to launch. As mentioned, the announced production quantities apply to the United States; Canadian availability and pricing remain to be confirmed.
