Glattbrugg, Switzerland – Dealers are trying to attract customers to their showrooms any way they can. After the Brits and the Americans with their “Retire your Ride” programs, the Chevrolet dealers of Switzerland are offering an exchange incentive for any means of transport, by it two-, three- or four-wheeled. That’s right, any.
Since July 23 and until September 30, 2009, Chevrolet Suisse SA is offering this deal exclusively to buyers under 26 that have a valid Swiss driver’s licence and would like to drive a new Chevy.
These young consumers can offer any “vehicle” in exchange: a motorcycle, a bike, a skateboard or even a child’s scooter! The Chevy dealer will give this “vehicle” a value between 800 and 3,000 Swiss francs (about the same amount in Canadian dollars, the Swiss franc almost at par at the time of writing).
So, on the purchase of a Chevrolet Matiz, a skateboard could be worth 800 Swiss francs, while an old bike could bring in 1,500 Swiss francs for the purchase of a Chevy Aveo.
But the crazy doesn’t stop there. When buying a Captiva SUV or a large Epica sedan, the customer could receive up to 3,000 Swiss francs – for a Bobby-Car. In good condition, of course.
Evidently, Swiss cheese is not the only thing with holes in it.
