I couldn't help but laugh at what I heard from an automotive writer when he said that it was a good thing that today's cars were more powerful because it made them safer. Following his logic, it was necessary to have that power when you needed to pass someone in a one lane road if you didn't want to get into trouble. And what if the problem was that people were taking too many risks when passing? Most deadly accidents happen in these precise situations. So instead of opting for more power, I would propose more calm... considering the few seconds that one saves by taking these risks, it is certainly not worth it.
