First launched in Japan in 2001, the Honda Fit is now produced in six factories around the world and sold in well over 100 countries. Fit hits the streets with color-keyed headlight surrounds, a pleasant and energetic fascia, and typically Japanese looking body-lines. Only offered in a hatchback model, it's ideal for easy loading and unloading of cargo, and increased rearward visibility. Long story short, a sporty and well appointed hatchback is a type of vehicle that jumps boundaries of culture and age with its unquestionable utility and fun-to-drive qualities.

After two million units of the successful original, the second generation Fit has already been on sale in Japan for months. This latest Fit is intended to be a small-car benchmark in a highly competitive segment- and the machine's utility, performance and packaging have all been advanced in the new model.

It's coming here, soon.

"The current Fit has been a tremendous success for Honda with its spacious, versatile interior and a wealth of standard features in a compact, fuel-efficient and affordable package," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda. "The all-new Honda Fit will reconfirm that small can in fact be big."

Styling is more assertive and features a heavily revised front end which is more sculpted and emotional. With a rounder side profile and taillights reminiscent of the last-generation Civic SI-R hatchback, Fit appears ready to tackle any job while having fun in the process.

The all-new Fit will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month.
