Best Midsize Pickup Truck: 2022 Toyota Tacoma
Those choosing a Tacoma truck know that choosing the precise one they want will take a bit of time and work. That’s what you get when the product offering is so wide, with a host of powertrains, trims, configurations and whatnot to wade through. The flipside of that is buyers can get the exact truck they want, and avoid having to pile up the options costs.
Over and beyond that, though, the Tacoma gets high marks from KBB for its toughness, reliability and resale value – all Toyota trademarks. So while Ford is definitely having a good year in these awards, this is one category where it’s bested by its Japanese rival.
What KBB liked:
- Lots of choice in the product offering
- Resale value
- Standard advanced suite of safety systems
- Off-road capabilities of several variants
- Reputation for reliability and toughness
- Overall value
