Best PHEV: 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV
The new plug-in variant of the Sportage was highly anticipated, and it hasn’t disappointed. Reaciton has been positive, on the performance and fuel economy sides but also because the model’s redesign has allowed it to stand apart from the masses of cookie-cutter compact SUVs on the market.
What KBB liked:
- Equipped with advanced tech for the multimedia system and drive-assist functions
- Exterior design
- Very refined, modern-feeling interior
- Quality of construction
- Decent electric range (though the RAV4 still beats it)
- Electrified powertrain makes for a dynamic drive
- Eligible for government rebates (in the U.S., but that also applies in Canada, we should add)
