The automaker did the right thing by renewing its Pathfinder last year. Not only is the design more appealing, but so is the ride, with the powertrain ditching the old continuously variable transmission in favor of this nine-speed automatic unit, a key component in this rebirth of the three-row SUV.

Build quality is also up, while the interior is easier to live with on a daily basis. The V6 engine, meanwhile, has not lost its luster, and thankfully so, as it's the only option on the table.
