6 — Porsche Taycan
Since the onset of the pandemic in North America, I've flown exactly once, and that was in October to participate in a program set up by Porsche Canada to introduce us to the Taycan, the first all-electric car from the German automaker. Now, test-driving any vehicle with the Porsche badge on it is going to be a notable experience, but one that heralds the brand’s arrival in the electric mobility universe? Heck yes!
While some design details irritated me on board (imperfect ergonomics, some functions hidden behind one of the screens), everything about the actual drive delighted me. The model is really impressive and everyone who’s reserved one will love it – when they actually get their hands on it. Though with this move towards electrification, you do have to be ready to say goodbye to the traditional Porsche symphony from under the hood.
