8 - Ram 1500
In the eyes of Car and Driver, the Ram 1500 truck does one thing better than any other truck out there: it manages to do and be a lot of things without compromising too much in any one department. A fussy way of saying that it’s good at being very luxurious, very rugged, very versatile and very comfortable – all at once. As C&D puts it, this is “the full-size truck that comes closest to driving like a car”.

- Equally adept at pleasing city and country mice
- Upper trims provide other-worldly levels of luxury and refinement, if that’s your thing
- The optional RamBoxes
- Excellent 8-speed automatic transmission
- Little roll in curves
