While they’d likely never admit it, the success Porsche has had with its various Taycan models – there’s the standard sedan, the Cross Turismo wagon and for a time, the Sport Turismo wagon as well – probably has come as a bit of a surprise.
After all, the Taycan was Porsche’s first foray into the BEV sector and while they’d had past experience with their electrified PHEV platforms, this is a different ball game.
For a first effort, count us impressed. Porsche offers a vehicle that makes over 500 km of range in some specs (more specifically, the spectacular GTS performance version) and with power as high as 777 hp and – wait for it – 1,019 lb-ft of torque in the upcoming Turbo GT model.
Add Porsche’s penchant for making sports cars with spectacular handling attributes, and what we have here is a very attractive package.
