Starting this summer, Google's Android Auto and Apple's CarPlay will debut in 14 different 2016 Chevy models led by the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze on June 24th. Customers in numerous markets around the world including Canada, Mexico, and Brazil will benefit from this new level of smartphone integration.
“For most of us, our smartphones are essential,” said Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors. “Partnering with Apple and Google to offer CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility across the widest range of models in the industry is a great example of how Chevrolet continues to democratize technology that’s important to our customers.”
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will first be available with the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system featuring a 7” display. The 8” version of MyLink will be compatible only with Apple CarPlay at the beginning of the 2016 model year, and with Android Auto later in the 2016 model year.
