Strange-looking minivans equipped with cameras and tested by Apple have recently been spotted in the streets of San Francisco and New York. Is the company developing its own version of Street View?
Fitted with 360-degree cameras mounted on an X-shaped roof mechanism, these minivans may also be using LiDAR (Light detection and ranging) sensors — similar to those in autonomous vehicles — according to AppleInsider magazine.
As you can see in the following video captured in Brooklyn, the machine looks eerily similar to Google's driverless prototypes. What do you think?
