A new study by Consumer Reports reveals that small turbocharged engines are not delivering on their fuel economy promises.

Some of the models tested by Consumer Reports were not only less efficient than advertised, but also disappointing in terms of acceleration. More importantly, they proved even thirstier and slower than many conventionally powered competitors.
