NEW YORK CITY — The General Motors Hummer H2 SUT (sport utility truck) was introduced today in the heart of New York City by Ron Zarrella, president of GM North America, with the help of special guests Arnold Schwarzenegger and New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani.
Kicking off the New York Auto Show, the sunset orange Hummer H2 SUT turned the heads of New Yorkers as Schwarzenegger, with Giuliani by his side, drove down Broadway flanked by two jet black Hummer H1s. In a dramatic entrance, the H2 SUT turned off Broadway and drove into ABC Studio amid crowds of onlookers to deliver both the truck and its celebrities to the event.
The H2 SUT concept vehicle is an evolution of the Hummer H2. Introduced as a concept vehicle last year, the H2 SUV (sports utility vehicle) is headed to production in 2002 as a 2003 model. Like the rest of the Hummer family, the H2 SUT concept vehicle provides a unique blend of functionality, capability and luxury. The extreme proportions of the truck make it an unmistakable member of the Hummer family.
