Canadian driver James Hinchcliffe secured pole position for the first race of the Formula Atlantic Championship double-header at the Rexall Edmonton Indy. It was his second pole of the season.

American Jonathan Bomarito, driving for Mathiasen Motorsports, finished second in what will be his second front row start of the season. Pacific Coast Motorsports Carl Skerlong was third. He has now qualified inside the top four for all four races thus far in 2008.

It was not a good day for Quebecer Kevin Lacroix who will start the first race from eleventh, having experienced problems all day long when trying to ride with new tires.
