Audi was at Monterey Car Week this month to present its new Nuvolari for the first time in North America. The 1,001-hp hybrid supercar will become the most powerful and fastest production model in the German brand's history.
The North American premiere came just a couple of weeks after the global unveiling of the Audi Q9 in New York. For Audi, these two closely spaced presentations notably demonstrate the importance of the North American market in its strategy.

A supercar limited to 499 units
The Nuvolari marks Audi's arrival in an ultra-high-performance niche. Production will be limited to 499 units worldwide.
The model’s hybrid powertrain develops a combined output of 1,001 hp, while its top speed exceeds 350 km/h.
The Nuvolari also relies on a new Audi Space Frame structure and uses a carbon body. The automaker claims to have integrated into this model several technologies derived from its motorsport experience, particularly in terms of aerodynamics.
"While the Q9 was specially tailored to the needs of American customers, the Nuvolari serves as a technological and stylistic showcase for the renewal of our brand," said Gernot Döllner, Chief Executive Officer of Audi.

First miles on California roads
After a first track appearance during the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, the Nuvolari also covered its first miles on a U.S. public road during its time in California.
Audi drove it in the vicinity of Carmel-by-the-Sea, near the Monterey Peninsula. The model was also presented at various Monterey Car Week events, notably at The Quail as well as on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The automaker thus sought to present its new supercar directly to a clientele of collectors and prospective buyers.

Deliveries planned for 2027
Audi has not yet officially launched European pre-orders for the Nuvolari. Those are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
According to the manufacturer, the model is nevertheless already generating interest among buyers in several markets; Audi has declined to specify the number of reservations or expressions of interest recorded so far.
First deliveries of the Audi Nuvolari are expected in the first half of 2027. Audi has not yet released pricing or specified how many of the 499 units will be destined for North America.
