If you are a fan of Volkswagen and Audi like many of us here at Auto123, you will be pleased to know that Audi has taken the wraps off its TT GT4 concept and that the company wants to offer this car as a «base option for affordable motorsports». If your definition of affordable is to have a 160 000$ car and beat the hell out of it on a racetrack, you have found your perfect match!
The TT GT4 comes with a 340 horsepower TFSI engine, S-tronic transmission with differential lock, a modified production suspension with adjustable dampers, plus 18-inch light alloy wheels. Since the purpose of this car is racing, nice little add-ons to it include a roll-over cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank box for the most extreme conditions as well as a hood, doors and a trunk lid made of carbon-fiber reinforced plastics. The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing stem from the production Audi TT RS.
The car is intended to extend Audi’s new modular customer sport program from 2012 forward and will be targeting the European and Asian markets.
