One hundred and sixty-eight million dollars will be allotted by the federal government to British Columbian roadway projects. It is a small amount on the government's part considering B.C. truckers and motorists pay over $750 million to Ottawa in federal fuel taxes, but we're not complaining! "This is the largest federal contribution to B.C. transportation infrastructure that we've seen for many years," remarked Bullis.

In addition to the good news regarding Trans-Canada routes, there was also an announcement that concerned improvements to highways leading to border crossings. The investment will hopefully alleviate border congestion and improve traffic flow for motorist and truckers voyaging to and from the United States.
