9- Mini Coupe concept

OK, so not a production vehicle, but if you step off the face of the Earth for a moment and missed the news about the Mini Coupe Concept and landed back on the showroom floor, you would swear that this car came off an assembly line. Because of this, is there still remains a doubt in Mini's mind whether or not to bring the Coupe, here's the definitive answer: DO IT! Looking correct and odd at the same time, the Coupe Concept recalls the Audi TT in a Mini sort of way. Created in part for the car’s 50th birthday celebrations, a Mini Coupe S JCW would certainly be a favourite amongst driving enthusiasts.

On-stage cars bear the JCW's 1.6L turbo engine good for 208 hp and 192lb-ft of torque.

10- Volkswagen Polo 1.6 TDI

This time, it is a production car! Granted, it is not yet available (I did write not yet...) in North America but it is well worth the nod. Although the spotlights are on the Mazda2 and Ford Fiesta in 2010, it will belong to the (now) all-new Polo hopefully within 24 months. The model that was available for the Green Car test drive was a 5-door SEL with 1.6L TDI engine. Mated to VW's 7-speed DSG gearbox, the 90 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque made lite of the car's 1,182 kg (2,600 lb).

With a beautifully crafted interior, expert fit and finish, great seats and an amazing powertrain, the Polo will be a winner in Canada when it arrives. The real question is: At what price?
