Competition in the premium auto marketplace is more intense than ever, and BMW's committed to make sure their 3-Series remains on top. The best-selling model will undergo a facelift for the 2009 model year amidst various updates to bring its styling and equipment offerings to new levels.

Most notable is the 3-Series's modest visual update, which includes revised front and rear fascias, larger LED illuminated tail lamp portions, and a slightly wider rear track. More aggressive and enlarged front air-dams also work towards a more potent look.

3-Series sedan and Touring (wagon) models will also benefit from re-designed interior elements including chrome accenting, a larger centre console storage compartment, revised armrest and a new iDrive system with large color screen and enhanced ease-of-operation.

Active headrests, additionally, are added to the standard safety feature lineup, and selected models boast added value packaging and MSRP reductions as well.

Also available is BMW's x-Drive all wheel drive technology and an advanced new clean diesel engine with well over 425 lb.-ft of torque.

BMW says that other models in their product lineup have been updated as well. "The Canadian market remains intensely competitive and premium brand consumers are benefiting," stated Kevin Marcotte, Director of Marketing at BMW Canada. "Our 2009 product offerings, including diesel engines in the new 3 Series Sedan and X5 Sports Activity Vehicle later this year provide Canadians with even more choice to enjoy our brand promise of delivering The Ultimate Driving Experience."
