Contrary to what Tesla CEO Elon Musk spoke about a few weeks ago, no alliance or supply deal with BMW is planned, according to high executives of the German manufacturer.
Musk's statement came just a couple of weeks after Daimler AG announced that it would sell off its stake in Tesla but keep working together on future product programs (they’re currently partners on the Mercedes-Benz B-Class electric drive).
Tesla also helped Toyota develop the RAV4 EV, but the Japanese giant now wants to focus on fuel cell vehicles instead to achieve zero emissions. Still, Musk insisted that the Tesla-Toyota partnership will continue.
