despite its larger displacement engine and complex electronics. Aside from the thermoplastic-formed fenders and aluminum doors and hood implemented on the standard 6-Series, the M6 shaves off extra pounds by utilizing a thinner rear windscreen and a full-length authentic carbon-fiber composite roof.

Because of the extensive weight reduction, the M6 has a shockingly high power-to- weight ratio, making it the quickest and fastest BMW currently in production. The car can

accelerate from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds, while 200 km/h (125 mph) is reached in under 14 seconds. Although top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), it's quite possible that the M6 could reach speeds in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph) without the limiter.

Because drivers are unlikely to want all 507 horsepower on tap all the time, BMW has equipped the M6 with the same "power button" as it did the M5. Upon twisting the key, only 400 horsepower is available, potentially preventing traction loss when tires are cold, or in slippery conditions; engaging the program allows all the power to pass through the tires.
