steel and retracts in just 22 seconds with the push of a button, ensuring added convenience and reduced noise levels, even at high speed. Visibility has also been increased by a total of 38 percent- a significant improvement.

BMW says that the lines of the 3 Series Cabriolet are still unmistakable from any angle despite the new roof. The clean lines are preserved by way of several integrated antennas, including a satellite radio pre-wire with antenna mounted into the deck lid. No visible external aerials are present on the new car. There are several other distinguishing features specific to the cabriolet model, including a unique grille and headlamp treatment. Active xenon lights are standard.

Power comes from two engines. The 328i model features a 3.0 litre, 230 horsepower inline six cylinder engine with Valvetronic technology. Fitted to

the 335i Cabriolet model is a twin-turbocharged inline six cylinder with 300 horsepower aided by a direct injection system for added flexibility. The turbocharged engine delivers 0-60 times in under 6 seconds, while the top speed is electronically governed to 240 km/h with the optional sport package.

The model takes the stage at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this January.
