Chinese automaker Brilliance could begin selling cars in the US as early as this year or by very early 2008. This would effectively make Brilliance the first Chinese brand to break into the World's largest market.

The first car that might be seen on US roads is the BS6 sedan. Pricing could range between $25,750 and $31,180. Nothing has yet been made official so we do not know what the sales target will be but we do know that Brilliance plans to deliver 158,000 sedans to Europe over the next five years, including the BS6. Afterwards, Brilliance will follow up with a coupe, a smaller sedan, a compact car and an SUV all by 2010.

Brilliance China Auto is a partner of well-heeled German luxury car firm BMW, also makes BMWs and Minis in a venture in northeast China.

Brilliance is poised to beat Chery and Changfeng as the first Chinese automaker to sell cars in the US. One way or another, it is clear that the race is on.
