Cadillac is revamping the XLR roadster for 2009. The main upgrade is the newly standard Platinum Package, which includes 18-inch alloy wheels and interior wood trim, among other features.

A few minor cosmetic changes have been made. The front and rear bumpers are new and inspired from the next-generation CTS sedan. The fog lights and front grille have also been revised. The raised hood, which used to be exclusive to the XLR-V, now comes standard on the regular model. Finally, the rear-end treatment is enhanced by larger exhaust tips.

Inside, a number of modifications bring a new energy to the car. The upper part of the dashboard is now appointed in handcrafted leather. Furthermore, the gauges have been redesigned. Additional wood options and metallic accents are also in the mix.

As for the powertrain, there are no upgrades to report about. For 2009, the XLR will keep using a 320-hp 4.6L V8, while the XLR-V retains the same 4.4L supercharged V8 producing 443 horsepower.
