After three days of trials, the KPMG accounting firm compiles the results. The firms is also responsible for weighing the results according to pre-determined criteria taking into account the car's performance, its technical specifications (cargo space, etc.) and of course its sales price. Only one winner is named per category.
On the last day of the Test Fest, the participating journalists have to evaluate the category winners if they haven't already done so during the previous days. They then have several weeks to enter their final vote and choose the new car and new utility vehicle of the year. The two Canadian Cars of the Year will be announced at the Toronto Auto Show in February.
