McLaren-Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton captured pole position for tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix held on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal.
Having badly damaged his car this morning during the last free practice session, German driver Sebastian Vettel did not participate in the qualifying session. Same for Jenson Button whose Honda suffered from mechanical woes.
First round
McLaren's Lewis Hamiton set the fastest time of the first round with a 1:16.909, ahead of Felipe Massa.
