We are only one day before the start of the first practice sessions of the Formula 1 cars. All drivers are now in the paddock, and the teams are finishing off preparing the cars for tomorrow morning.

In the shuttle bus taking me to the circuit this morning, German journalists were discussing the latest, hot rumour. It states that Nick Heidfeld will not be returning to the BMW-Sauber team next year. Nico Rosberg would take his place alongside Robert Kubica. This rumour makes sense as Nico started his career by claiming the German Formula BMW title. The Williams-BMW was the first F1 car he ever drove. Interesting...

The teams are happy with their new installations in the paddock. Although the drivers can now easily hide from the press, everyone is happy with the vastly improved working conditions.

The engineers are putting the last touch to the set-ups of the cars. Weather can indeed cause some problems. "Hot, humid air does not cause us problems. It does not hamper the performance of the car," said Laurent Mékies, Chief Engineer at Toro Rosso. "Even if the air is damped, the aerodynamics remain efficient."

Italian journalists questioned us about the scandal surrounding the resignation of Minister Maxime Bernier. Boy, that story made the headlines in Italy! Luckily, the racing starts tomorrow.
