Driver Benjamin Distaulo, who has started his own team in the Canadian Touring Championship in 2010, has accepted a role as team manager of yet another team, the Lombardi Honda Racing Team, for 2011.

Distaulo Racing has had instant success in the series with the title of Michel Dulong in the GT4-Quebec category.

Distaulo had been racing since the 1990s and was runner-up of the Echo Cup in 2008 as well as eighth in the 2010 standing of the Canadian Touring Championship.

Tony Lombardi has decided to hand-over the helm of the team to Distaulo as it requires more and more time with three Honda Civic Si's in the series.

"Benjamin is not only an excellent driver but he has also demonstrated that he is capable to successfully manage a team with Distaulo Racing, which has evolved in the provincial championship and in the Touring class of the 2010 Canadian Championship," said the Lombardi Honda owner.

Distaulo, who drove for the team last season, does not say no to being on the wheel in 2011 as well. However, he considers his new managing position as a priority over the driving and will take consequent decisions on that matter.
