2011 Candian Touring Car (CTCC) champions Étienne Borgeat and GT Racing have announced they would be taking part in the 2012 Canadian GT3 Cup challenge, a Porsche 911 spec-series.

The news came through a number of announcements from GT Racing.

On top of Borgeat’s commitment to the GT3 Cup Challenge, his team notably confirmed he and team-mate Philip Fayer would be back in CTCC’s Super Touring class next year, aboard their Pontiac Solstice.

It was also announced that rookie Maxime Lachance and GT Racing owner Eric Côté will debut one of the Solstice in the Super Production Challenge, Quebec’s very own series.

Finally, the team’s new involvement with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup raised the question of an eventual ALMS entry, the same Porsche being GTC-eligible, beyond 2012.
