Former Star Mazda racer Jérimy Daniel has switched his sights to the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) for the 2013 season.
The 19-year-old from Châteauguay, Québec, will race one of Lombardi Honda's Civic Si, in the Super Touring class.
Open-wheel championships have apparently become too expensive for Daniel who, prior to the US Star Mazda Championship, experienced F1600 in his native province, and karting before that.
"Climbing the ladder in open-wheel has become impossible without extreme budgets," he explained in a press release.
At least, in the CTCC "a young driver can still hope to progress".
The 2013 season kicks off May 18th, at Bowmanville's Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in Ontario.
